Tried and true, this old-fashioned pear pie is a “Grandma Recipe” with deep roots and the taste can’t be beat.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a medium bowl, mix ½ cup melted butter with 1 cup flour and 1 tablespoon sugar to form a ball. Using your fingers, press dough into a 9-inch pie pan.
1. I prefer using fresh pears, but you can substitute them for 1 quart canned pears, drained.
