Ingredients

Crust Ingredients:

  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 1 cup (5 ounces) all-purpose white flour
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar

Filling Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • ¼ cup (1.25 ounces) all-purpose white flour
  • 1 cup (7.5 ounces) white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 large fresh ripe pears peeled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a medium bowl, mix ½ cup melted butter with 1 cup flour and 1 tablespoon sugar to form a ball. Using your fingers, press dough into a 9-inch pie pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, mix softened butter with 1 cup of white sugar, 4 tablespoon white flour, 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until well combined.
  3. Place peeled and sliced pears on top of dough in pie pan and pour custard mixture over top. Bake on a baking sheet in preheated 325 degree F oven for 80 to 90 minutes (1 hour 20-30 minutes) or until top is crusty and lightly brown and inside filling has set.

Recipe Notes

1. I prefer using fresh pears, but you can substitute them for 1 quart canned pears, drained.
