Ingredients

  • 1 gallon water
  • ½ cup Dawn dish detergent see note
  • 2 tablespoons glycerin see note

Instructions

  1. Combine water, dish detergent, and glycerin in a large flat container. Stir well. Then dip objects with holes in them (child sized clothes hangers) work well and gently sway to form bubbles. We always use them outdoors to avoid the mess.

Recipe Notes

1. You can try other brands of dish detergent, but we've had best success with the Dawn brand.

2. The giant bubbles work best with glycerin (found at a pharmacy or on Amazon, aff. link). If you don't have glycerin on hand you can use ½ cup corn syrup and you can still make some pretty good bubbles (just keep in mind that the giant ones won't hold together quite as well though).

3. For extra fun, make 5 or 10 gallons of bubble solution and put in a small wading pool. A hula hoop dipped inside will make ENORMOUS bubbles! You can even have a child stand in the middle and make a bubble around them. :)
