Sharing the secret to perfect hard boiled eggs on the stove top every time. And it works with farm fresh eggs.
Fill the base of the steam pot with water until it is about halfway full. Place it on the stove top and turn the heat to high.
When the water is at a rolling boil, place the steam pot basket on the top of the base. Cover it with a lid. Set a timer and steam eggs for 15 minutes.
When time is up, remove steam basket from pan and set on a dishcloth to cool. Eggs can be pealed immediately under cold running water or when cool to the touch.
Unpeeled hard boiled eggs can be stored for up to a week in the refrigerator.
You can use more or less than 10 eggs. You can steam as many eggs as will fit in the steam pot with the lid still tightly fitting. If the pot is really full, you may want to add a minute to the cook time. You may want to adjust the cooking time for extra large or smaller eggs.
