These honey-sweetened pina coladas are the perfect cold drink or frozen treat. Creamy and refreshing pineapple flavor with a hint of coconut.
Jump to RecipeHello, my friends.
These honey-sweetened pina coladas are so refreshing.
They are non-alchoholic (virgin).
And sweetened with honey. Because I love to sweeten good things with honey. Raw honey, of course.
They are admittedly a little bit indulgent. Meaning you should really make them ASAP.
Here’s what you need to make them
- pineapple juice
- chopped pineapple (I use fresh pineapple but you can also make it with canned)
- cream
- raw honey
- vanilla extract
- coconut extract
- ice
FAQs for honey-sweetened pina coladas
I definitely would try it. I think the fresh pineapple gives a flavor you won’t get from canned, but if canned is all you have, go for it.
Yes! They make delicious popsicles. 🙂
For this recipe you should be fine to sweeten with regular honey or agave. You may need to adjust the sweetener slightly by adding more or less, to taste.
Give it a try. I think a dairy free version with coconut cream would be delicious. I’d probably leave out the coconut extract if it was me (at least until I gave it a taste). Milk or half and half would probably work too, but keep in mind your results will be quite a bit less creamy.

Recipe Notes
1. I haven’t tried it but I think this recipe would work well with coconut cream (maybe omit the coconut extract) or half and half.
2. This recipe works best with runny honey. If honey has crystalized you may want to liquify it before using in this recipe. I haven’t tried it but I think agave will substitute well. Just taste after blending to make sure it is sweet enough (as honey tends to be a bit sweeter) and add more, if needed.
3. These pina coladas can also be frozen into popsicle molds for a delicious frozen treat.
