Hello my friends! Today is the first post in my Saturday Snippet series (Update 7/2020: I changed the category which will now be called Social Snippets).
Are you wondering what Saturday Snippet is?
A Saturday Snippet is just a quick little post about something not necessarily related to food (but don’t be surprised if it crops in there occasionally because I really can’t help myself). They won’t be regular posts, but I’ll pop in with one here and there.
So are you ready?
Today’s Saturday Snippet is all about what I’m lovin’ right now.
February is the month of Looooove so I thought what a great time to share what I love with you.
Ok here we go.
1. First off I’m lovin’
These Flowers.
Do you know about these flowers?
They are called Cyclamen. And they make THE BEST Houseplants ever.
Mine have lasted for about 13 years and I’m not even joking.
They are easy to take care of. Easy as in they need water occasionally and sun once and a while and that’s about it. I love that they bloom this time of year. Always in the dead of winter when I’m feeling gloomy. I love to look up from cooking or doing dishes and see the bright splash of color in my windowsill.
Happiness.
I’ve seen them for sale this time of year in stores all over. I think they would be a good gift for Valentine’s day with their pretty bright pink heart-like flowers. It would be a wonderful gift that keeps on giving year after year.
2. Second I’m lovin’
This Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme Book (aff. link).
I love love love children’s books. Right now this one is one of my daughter’s favorites (and mine too).
The pictures are so darling. And the rhymes are timeless.
My daughter is only 2 and she goes around the house reciting these rhymes all the time. It’s so cute to hear her talking to her brothers or her toys using the words from the rhymes.
Also I’ve learned a little secret…if I read the rhymes super super slow, she’ll fall asleep for her nap to them after a couple of pages.
The. Best. Secret. Ever.
Love this book.
3. And finally for the last thing I’ll share today, I’m lovin’
This Guy.
Sorry to get all mushy on you but he’s the best.
This picture is from when Brandon and I went on a 14-mile bike ride last Saturday in the lovely 40 degree weather. Yes it was cold but a lot of fun. We found a nice quiet trail up by the mountains and the views were amazing.
He’s been so great to train with me for a 50-mile bike ride that we’re planning for May. I’ve never gone more than about 25 miles so this is all new for me and I’m really excited.
So there you have it. Three things I’m lovin’ right now.
